Shower Scene | |
Today while enjoying my shower, I decided to flout the rules of water conservation, and enjoyed the hot steam on my aching joints.
I leaned my head back to stretch my neck and as I looked at the ceiling I was inspired: “I wonder how far I can look behind me?”
Bolstered by my energizing aromatherapy body wash, I proceeded to test my flexibility in a shower that measures less than 2 x 2 feet.
With my hands on the tiled wall behind me, I got halfway into a backbend before space constraints and the hand of God prohibited me from going any further.
Naked and partially upside-down, I remembered a lesson I should have learned from the handstand incident of January 2005.
Though memories fade and broken toes heal, I finally understood that some environments are just not conducive to the practice of gymnastics.
Better late than never.
